Dr. Sari Cohen is a licensed and board-certified primary
care naturopathic doctor. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine
with High Honors from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine,
and graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a Bachelors degree
in Asian Studies. In addition, Dr. Cohen has studied botanical medicine
under the herbalists Ursula Basch, Kate Gilday, and Susun Weed.
Her main areas of interest include women’s medicine and chronic
diseases. She has had the privilege to treat adults and children with
the following conditions: diabetes, autism, fibromyalgia, PCOS, uterine
fibroids, ADHD, hypothyroidism, endometriosis, Graves’ disease,
insomnia, depression, eczema, and more.
Her paper "Melatonin,
Menstruation, and the Moon" was published in 2005 in The Townsend
Letter and she contributed to a literature review by the Diabetes Research
Group at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine on modes and efficacy
of naturopathic treatments for type 2 diabetes. Dr. Cohen is also a contributing
author of the Board Review Study Materials for the Naturopathic Physicians
Licensing Examination.
In addition to her practice with WHNMC, Dr. Cohen serves on the Medical
Advisory and Research Team at Insulite Laboratories (www.insulitelabs.com),
a company specializing in herbal and nutritional programs for Obesity,
Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Syndrome, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
and Diabetes.
Dr. Cohen embraces the naturopathic philosophy of giving each patient
what they need to heal themselves and allowing the wisdom of the body
to guide the healing process.
