Offsite ND Rotation
Whole Health Naturopathic Medical Center is pleased to offer an Offsite
ND Rotation Program. This naturopathic medical center, located in Manchester, is staffed with four naturopathic doctors utilizing several modalities. We are very excited to work with and support students
during their clinical training. Although we accept applications from students

the most from this rotation if they have already completed their first
year of clinic. Students must complete an application to be considered
for this shift.

Shift Details:
What Naturopathic modalities will you be exposed to while on shift?
The doctors of Whole Health aim to use nature cure and stick to the Naturopathic
Principles when working with patients and designing treatment plans. We
use various Naturopathic modalities such as homeopathy, constitutional
hydrotherapy, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, acupuncture, lab evaluation and
alternative lab testing. During this rotation students will have the opportunity
to work on physical exam skills and time will be provided for students
to experience the business aspect of running a medical office. You will
not receive any exposure to minor surgery as this exceeds the NH scope
of practice.
How many patient contacts can you expect?
Students will see between 25-50 patients a week, depending on the week.
About 25% of these are new patients and the other 75% are follow-up visits.
There will also be opportunities to help with constitutional hydrotherapy,
help with our medicinary and prepare homeopathic and botanical medicines.
We treat people with both acute and chronic disease. We see a significant
pediatric and geriatric population and all ages between.
What are your responsibilities while on shift?
Your responsibilities while on rotation and under direct supervision will
be to read the charts prior to the patients' visits, take vitals and medical
histories, and assist in physical exam. You will be asked to participate
in assessment discussions, lab test evaluations and formulation of treatment
plans.
What you will do to prepare for shift:
Prior to the week you are scheduled to rotate at the clinic, you will
be given the known diagnosis / diagnoses of the patients you will be seeing
while on rotation. We ask that you read up on these so that you are familiar
with the common symptoms, the pertinent laboratory results and applicable
treatment plans coinciding with the diagnosis / diagnoses.
How many hours will you receive?
The shift is structured to provide 40 hours; however, we can accommodate
requests for less than 40 hours.
Did you know we have a scholarship
program?
Students can apply for a scholarship in the form of housing, and local
transportation. Students will be set up with a host family who will provide
a safe place to sleep and transportation to and from the medical center.
A limited number of cash scholarships may be available to cover a portion
of airfare for students in need of financial assistance.
Remember, we were students too! This rotation is meant to be fun,
provide you with a rich and rewarding experience and give you an opportunity
to be part of a wonderful and diverse community of NDs who believe in
and practice Nature Cure.
